  Hello--new to the witnesses...and you

  just wanted to introduce myself.

  i went to the kh for the first time 2 weeks ago...and will go again tomorrow.

  i don't believe anything witnessy...(i was raised in the assembly of god church and now the closest thing i "do" with religion is yoga or sometimes the buddhist temple).... but the man i'm in love with is a df'd jw (we've been together for 6 years).... and he wants to get reinstated just to talk to his family again (i can assure you he does not believe it).... and he wants his family to accept me because we are about to get married... so, i'm going to meetings...its very interesting, but only because it shows me more about how he was raised.

  Seafood.

  Oysters and champaigne are always on the menu. Opening the oysters is one of my favourite traditions.

  No one let me do it at first as I wasnt used to it and its easy to cut oneself.

  All the menfolk go down to the cellar to open them ( we keep them in the cool). We drink several glasses of white wine and taste a few pf the oysters as we open them.

  Thanks for posting the topic Paula. Thats put me in the Christmas spirit for the weekend.

  after watching serenity's video i had to comment.

  i kept pausing the video looking for family members or others that i might know but haven't seen in years.

  hated the drive to holt, but loved the soft serve ice cream.

  No more JW window cleaners!

  a window-cleaning robot that won a gold medal at the 2010 iena nuremberg international trade fair was launched in taiwan today.. the robot, named winbot, was invented by local inventor chao chih-mo and uses magnets that allow the device to be attached to both sides of windows up to 10 millimeters thick to clean both surfaces at the same time.

  the invention is able to detect the cleaning area on its own using automatic navigation technology and infrared sensors, said the company.. .

  the robot, which is priced at under nt$10,000 (us$330), can operate at least five times more quickly that human window cleaners.. that could put hundreds of thousands of jw's out of a job :d. .

  summary - i developed a piss poor, combative, rebellious attitude toward the society many years ago.

  my wife saw it and hated it.

  Reading all the posts, I see there is some conflicting opinions. Its very hard for someone to tell you what to do, as we cannot know all the elements of your situation.

  Personally, I tend to reason: if you are not sure what to do, then do nothing yet.

  May I suggest, however, that you start looking up topics about how to persuade and negociate.

  There must be loits of other interesting links. The above gives one or two techniques that you might be able to use. If you are gonig to be dfd, then take the time to give it your very best shot. You'll never convince the elders, its your wife that you wish to convince.

  Trying to "softly softly " sow some seeds of doubt could be interesting, but also long. You need time to do that.

  Is there anything that your wife has at least a little problem with in the borg? Could be a starting poin

  in the continuing court battle in australia, the legal counsel for the witchtower babble and trash religion shocked witless onlookers by saying the there is.

  "no christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses in the state of victoria," or indeed the whole of australia.. hahahhahahahaha!.

  at least they are not perjuring themselves as any fool can see that their congregations are not "christian".. check this on barb andersons thread!.

  I am officially 'mentally diseased' by WBT$ standards!

  last night whilst i was relaxing 2 elders came to my door to tell me i am officially da'd because of my 'actions'.

  they weren't specific but i have been to church and telling others about the wbt$ scandals.. i was told they thought i was rude for ignoring their letters and not attending my jc.. my reply: 'you were the rude ones for sending me hounding letters when i specifically asked you never to contact me!'.

  i got a 'hurumph' from the lead eldub.. i don't remember the whole conversation but they were annoyed i kept referring to the wbt$ as 'just a big business' but i told them they were on my property uninvited so they'd have to listen to my opinion and i don't have to listen to theirs.

  I thought they said that 15% of XJWs become atheists,

  Thats interesting. I was recently musing that maybe the GB is the real

  Antichrist, as most exjws are so turned off by religion that they become athiests.
